University Mourns Sudden Passing of Sophomore Student

On Thursday, September 26, Rev. John Stack, O.S.A., Vice President for Student Life, notified the Villanova Community of the sudden passing of Calum Lehman, a sophomore in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences from Colorado Springs, Colorado.

“It is a devastating loss to our community, and our hearts go out to Calum’s family and friends,” Stack wrote in the email.

There are resources on campus available for anyone who wishes to talk with someone. The Counseling Center, located in Room 206 of the Health Services Building, is a free and confidential resource for students and can be reached at 610-519-4050. Campus Ministry Staff and Resident Assistants are also resources who are open to conversation.

University President Rev. Peter Donohue, O.S.A., Ph.D. presided over the mass in remembrance of Calum on Monday, September 30 in St. Thomas of Villanova Church.

“We want to extend our deepest sympathy to his family and friends on this heartbreaking loss,” Fr. Stack stated. “We ask that you keep his family and all those who knew him in your thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time.”
