While we had a much-needed break after midterms, there was something uniquely terrifying about the last Sunday of Fall Break. Suddenly, there was more work to do than when we left, the sun set at 6 p.m. and the senior slump had gotten a whole lot scarier. You aren’t alone. Here are a few songs to add to your playlist for when the Sunday Scaries hit hard.
“Baby Steps” – Olivia Dean
While this entire album is perfect for a Sunday, no other song quite so much as “Baby Steps.” Olivia’s warm vocals and painfully real lyrics hit home. Still, it’s a general reminder to take baby steps. Everything will be okay.
“For You I’ll Wait” – harf.
Bringing you an underground and cathartic track from breakout singer-songwriter harf. “For You I’ll Wait” is the perfect track to blast cruising down Lancaster on a rainy Sunday afternoon while thinking, “that four-page Ancients essay can totally wait.”
“Carlo’s Song” – Noah Kahan
Nothing hits harder on a Sunday than Noah Kahan. “Carlo’s Song” is tragically underrated and the ultimate comfort for the scariest of Sundays.
“Some Protector” – ROLE MODEL
The classic track for yearning on a Sunday. It’s soft, aching and quietly devastating in the best way. The perfect soundtrack for that 7 p.m. “why am I suddenly so emotional?” spiral before Monday hits.
