On Wednesday, June 3, combo guard Carter Fisk announced his commitment to Villanova on Instagram.
Fisk is an unranked recruit out of St. Frances Academy (MD) and is Villanova’s second freshman recruit of the 2026 class. Back in December, Villanova was the first program to offer him. He later received offers from Penn State, Coastal Carolina, Virginia Tech and Ole Miss. Fisk, The Baltimore Sun’s All-Metro boys basketball Player of the Year, led St. Frances to a 36-7 record as well as Baltimore Catholic League regular-season and tournament championships.
The 6-foot-3 guard averaged 17.1 points, 3.1 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.8 steals per game during his senior year.
Fisk joins Adam Oumiddoch in Villanova’s 2026 freshman recruiting class. Oumiddoch flipped his commitment from St. John’s to Villanova in March.
Villanova’s roster currently sits at 10 with three Wildcats returning from last season. Six of those 10 are listed as guards by their current or former programs, which consist of UIC transfer Elijah Crawford, St. Bonaventure transfer Darryl Simmons II, Cornell transfer Jake Fiegen, Oumiddoch and now Fisk.
Head coach Kevin Willard and his staff still need to address the roster’s current lack of a true big man for the upcoming season. Duke Brennan will most likely be unable to return after he attempts to be grandfathered into the NCAA’s proposed “5-in5” rule that gives collegiate athletes five years to play five seasons. It was announced that current seniors would not be grandfathered in to the new rule if voted on and approved.
Brennan has worked out with NBA teams such as the Detroit Pistons and the Los Angeles Lakers this offseason.
Villanova has reportedly focused on landing international forward Luigi Suigo from Italy. The 7-foot-3 forward is currently enrolled in the 2026 NBA Draft and is a projected high second-rounder. However, Suigo said he would withdraw from the draft if not a first-round pick. Suigo was visited by Villanova assistant coach Ricky Harris.
Sugio has until June 13 to withdraw his name from the NBA Draft and play collegiate basketball. He is linked to Villanova and BYU if he decides to withdraw.
