Responsible adult living to arrive at The CourtsTo the editors:I applaud Audrey Gilliam for her article in the Feb. 7 issue regarding alternatives to the late night “drinking and partying scene” at Villanova.  I’d like to add a few comments. The Courts is under renovation and we do not encourage the parties or behaviors of the past.  We are working closely with the Lower Merion Police to curtail such activities.  Citations are being issued, evictions are being pursued and parents are being involved in any problematic situations.  Dean Pugh is also notified.  If you choose to “party at the Courts,” you risk criminal charges.Remodeling at the property includes wall-to-wall carpeting, new cabinets and appliances, vanities and medicine cabinets, new lighting and entry doors, hallway redecoration, laundry facilities and a free fitness center.  As we change from Bryn Mawr Court to College Hall Apartments, with much remodeling and new construction, we expect our residents to enjoy an atmosphere consistent with pleasant and responsible adult living. We invite you to visit and see the wonderful changes. Lynn AngeloGeneral ManagerMarks & Co., Inc.Pro-war veteran asks to have a voice in Univ. communityTo the editors:In your Feb. 14 issue, Mike Dolan wrote an article stating that Villanova should take a stand, as a whole University, and condemn the possible war on Iraq. As an alumnus of this prestigious University, I believe I should be considered a member of the “whole University” concept, as I have certainly continued to promote Villanova since my graduation and have a vested interest in its activities, political and otherwise. That being the case, my stand is that war in the Middle East is justifiable and we should do everything possible to ensure Iraq has no opportunity to strike out against us first. Sorry, Mr. Dolan, but since my opinion counts as a member of the “whole University,” Villanova cannot break its silence and condemn the potential war against Iraq.Martha “Mert” DorganCommander, USN (Retired)Class of 1978
