Photographers take a shot

Over 100 photographs will be displayed in Dougherty Hall. This is one of several events planned by Villanova University’s Photography Club.

This year, the exhibition will take place in the West Lounge of Dougherty Hall from April 11-15. There will be a formal opening reception the night of April 11 from 7 to 9 p.m.

Pace started the Photography Club in August 2003. Last year’s exhibition took place in March and only lasted one day. About 12 photographers participated, displaying around 100 photos.

Fifteen photographers will display their work at this year’s exhibition – a turnout Pace is optimistic about.

“We expect a really good response this year because we’ve become more well-known across campus.” Pace said. “We’ve had a lot more time to organize this event compared to last year and will open a lot longer for people to visit.”

It is not mandatory that a student be a member of the Photography Club to take part in the exhibition.

“I’m not a member yet, but I hope to be soon,” said William Merrick, a junior Communication major. “I am really excited to be a part of this event; I plan to show 12 photos.”

The club’s exhibition allows student photographers to display their work in a professional setting.
