Panera Bread opens location in Wynnewood

Panera Bread opened a new location in Wynnewood on Lancaster Avenue next door to Vinny T’s of Boston on Jan. 22.

Panera is open for business from 6:30 a.m. until 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Sundays.

Panera offers a variety of meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner which range from egg soufflés to their chicken bacon dijon panini.

The menu consists of various “signature sandwiches” as well as sandwiches of the customer’s choice, soups, salads, pastries and other baked goods.

The chain is currently offering its “You Pick 2” promotion where patrons can choose two selections from a soup, salad or sandwich for a special reduced price. Panera’s “barista stations” provide customers with a wide array of hot beverages such as coffee, espresso and tea.

Aside from its wide variety of meals, the atmosphere at Panera is different from many other traditional delicatessen restaurants. A gas fireplace, comfortable seating and easy-listening music piped over the speakers are some of the amenities offered.

Also, the café offers free wireless Internet, making Panera a convenient location for the University’s students. While the café does not currently accept WildCard, it is a possibility in the future, based upon a corporate decision.

The easiest way to get to Panera is by car, although it is possible to get there by train, as it is roughly a mile walk from the Wynnewood train station.

After taking the R5 train to Wynnewood, students should walk down Wynnewood Avenue to Lancaster Avenue and travel east.
