WXVU to sponsor rock concert/dance party

Hollerable Mention II, a dance party/rock show organized by WXVU’s Promotions Director Adam Scavette, will occur tomorrow in the East Lounge of Dougherty Hall.

Jhn Rdn (John Redden), a Villanova alumnus and current owner of the happening Philadelphia club The Barbary, will be returning to his alma mater with “weapons of dance destruction” that will make your hips shake and your ear drums quake.

In addition, the Hurrah DJs, Chris Rogy and Shawn Ryan, who dominated the scene at February’s Hollerable Mention I, will be present again. Scavette was lucky enough to book this deadly DJ duo, which usually performs a monthly electro show at Center City’s Medusa Lounge.

Scavette also plans to present the crowd with his own collection of house and electro beats.

But before the East Lounge is converted into a raving club, a handful of rock musicians will open the night.

Banned Books, a psychedelic rock band from Bellmawr, N. J., will play an aggressive yet intriguing array of sounds.

Villanova favorite The Bot Flies will follow Banned Books. The Bot Flies play an infectious brand of indie pop that will get into your system.

Doug O’Neil, better known as John A. Dreams, will display visual projections throughout the night and perform a set of his own ambient and genre-bending noise. The only thing better than a dance party is a free dance party, so leave your money at home, and come ready to dance your pain away. The event begins at 9 p.m. and ends when you are too tired to dance anymore.
