Holiday Movie Line-up

Joe Cramer

As we enter the home stretch of the semester, it’s going to take more than the nostalgic crooning of Perry Como to remind you that the

holidays are right around the corner. Luckily, as always

around this time of year, cable television has got you covered

whenever you need a study break. Here are a few notable holiday films airing over the next week.

“The Santa Clause 2”

Tomorrow, 8 p.m.

ABC Family

The sequel to the only Christmas/murder-mystery/Tim Allen hybrid comedy, this holiday epic features Santa (and divorced dad), played by Allen, searching for a wife before his title is taken away from him forever. Judge Reinhold co-stars as the kindest home wrecker in film history.

“Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and the Island of Misfit Toys”

Tuesday, Dec. 15, 7 p.m.

An animated classic, this movie features Rudolph fulfilling his duty to save Christmas in a different way than indicated in the song. Here, he has to retrieve all of Santa’s toys after they are stolen by the sinister Toy Taker just three days before Christmas.

“Home Alone 2: Lost in New York”

Tuesday, Dec. 15, 8:30 p.m.

ABC Family

In this sequel to the popular holiday film, which arguably eclipsed its predecessor in quality and popularity, Kevin McCallister finds himself once again separated from his family, but this time he’s all alone in the Big Apple. With the help of his father’s credit card and the comic intrusions of the same incompetant criminals from the original, Kevin makes sure his stay in New York City, and your viewing experience, is an especially memorable holiday experience.
