For Villanova, March is an action-packed month. Whether one is still reminiscing about Spring Break or looking forward to watching Villanova basketball, it is important to recognize that March is Women’s History Month. At Villanova, numerous student organizations and clubs are finding new ways to celebrate the achievements and impact of women.
“This month, Villanova will celebrate the contributions of women within our community and throughout history,” the University said across its various social media platforms. “Honoring Women’s History Month, Villanova University will host an array of educational events throughout the month of March.”
The Anne Welsh McNulty Institute for Women’s Leadership is hosting numerous events throughout the month. All Women’s History Month events are listed on its website, and the first event is a Women’s History Month Celebration from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the Oreo.

Sophomore Maya Mathews, president of The Society of Women of Color in VSB, is looking forward to the event.
“As the Society of Women of Color in VSB, we’re excited to partner with the VSB DUSAC to create a space where students can come together to reflect on the powerful history highlighted in The Six Triple Eight,” Mathews said. “Events like this allow us to celebrate Women’s History Month while engaging in meaningful conversations about leadership, resilience and representation.”
At 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, The Space, Pre-Med Club and Villanova Medlife will host a discussion with OB/GYN Dr. Rebecca Cipriano in Bartley Hall 3010. The event will aim to educate attendees about the career and daily practice of an OB/GYN.

The event aims to increase the representation of women online through editing Wikipedia entries.
Students will be provided with snacks and everything they need to start editing.
In celebration of Women’s History Month, the Multicultural Student Nurses Organization (MSNO) will be welcoming lifestyle influencer and travel nurse Eunice Jimenez to Villanova from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, March 19, in Driscoll 134. The discussion will cover nursing advice and overall work-life balance.
MSNO president Laila Moore spoke about the importance of the event, highlighting the impact women of color have in “shaping the future of nursing.”
“While nursing is a female-dominant profession, the percentage of nurses of color remains relatively small, making representation especially important,” Moore said. “Hearing from Eunice Jiménez, a travel ICU nurse, content creator, and Philadelphia native, gives students the opportunity to learn from someone who is not only advancing the profession clinically, but amplifying the voices and experiences of nurses of color as well, reminding us of the true power in our presence within this field.”
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, March 20, students can take part in the St. Rita of Cascia Day of Service.
Students will spend the day learning and discussing St. Rita of Cascia’s legacy and participate in a service project to address violence in the Philadelphia area.

The panel will feature four female panelists, and the discussion will surround challenges women often face in academic institutions.
In collaboration with the Office of Belonging and Inclusion, the McNulty Institute will also host a screening of Period. End of Sentence. at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, in Corr Hall 115. The documentary follows a group of women working to create change and challenge stigma around menstruation.
Dinner will be provided, and students can expect a night of empowerment and entertainment.
At the end of the day, every member of the Villanova community can celebrate Women’s History Month by supporting the student organizations working to improve representation and equality.
Through productive conversation and community engagement, students can not only reflect on past achievements but also continue to make progress towards the future.
