On Thursday, May 1, GCU transfer Malcolm Flaggs announced on Instagram that he was committing to Villanova.
Flaggs marked the second commit of the day, after four-star recruit Acaden Lewis.
The GCU transfer played in 11 games in the 2023-24 season before an injury shut down his season. Flaggs was forced to medically redshirt this past 2024-25 season.
Before his injury, he played an average of 2.5 minutes per game, averaging 0.8 points and 0.1 rebounds.
His college career began at Arizona State after committing out of high school from Hillcrest Prep in Phoenix, AZ. Flaggs ended up redshirting his true freshman season.
Flaggs will stay teammates with fellow GCU transfer Duke Brennan, who transferred to Villanova last month. The two played high school basketball together at Hillcrest Prep and even shared a college commitment video.
The pair followed each other to Arizona State, and then both transferred to GCU.
There are now two open spots remaining on Villanova’s roster.
Adam Zagoria reported on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Thursday that Villanova has finished constructing its roster for the 2025-26 season. That could mean the final roster spots are filled, and just not officially announced yet.
