Glitz and glamour filled the air on Saturday night as Philadelphia’s finest stepped out at the annual Hair O’ The Dog. This year’s event took place at the Hilton Hotel at Penn’s Landing. A portion of the proceeds from the evening benefited The Center for Autism in Philadelphia, allowing guests to enjoy a night of fun while giving back to the local community.

Guests had the chance to bid in a silent auction on a variety of high ticket items including exclusive getaway vacations and signed memorabilia from the Super Bowl bound Philadelphia Eagles. The excitement for the following day’s NFC Championship game between the Eagles and the Minnesota Vikings was overwhelming. The Eagles cheerleaders walked the red carpet, and  green foam fingers circulated the crowd. The room erupted into Eagles chants time and time again.

The night culminated in a nearly two-hour-long set from acclaimed EDM group Cash Cash. They ignited the already high-energy crowd with their dance-friendly originals and remixes, spraying champagne and confetti as guests danced into the early morning hours.

It was easy to see why Hair O’ The Dog has been voted “best event in Philly” by the readers of Philadelphia Magazine. While certainly not the most budget-friendly night out, the event boasts glamour, energy and excitement that is tough to beat. Villanova students, alumni and faculty should definitely keep this event in mind in the future as it allows for both a grand time and a way to give back.
