Villanova men’s basketball’s Duke Brennan has entered the transfer portal per Earl Flaggs of OG6 Sports Management.
Though Brennan has already used his four years of eligibility, Brennan released a statement to his agency regarding his decision to enter the transfer portal and the NCAA’s possible adoption of a five-year eligibility rule.
“In light of recent developments regarding the NCAA’s adoption of a five-season eligibility rule, I have been informed that I potentially meet and satisfy the anticipated criteria for an additional season of eligibility, having participated in four consecutive seasons without utilizing a redshirt. Based on this anticipated guidance and directive from the NCAA, my legal team has advised me to enter the current transfer portal to make sure that my rights are preserved and protected regardless of how and when the NCAA passes this eligibility rule,” Brennan said to @og6sportsmanagement.
During his one year with the Wildcats, Brennan averaged 12.4 points and 10.3 rebounds per game, becoming the first player in four decades to average more than 10 rebounds per game for the program. Harold Preseley previously accomplished the feat during the 1985-86 season, averaging 10.1 rebounds per game.
Prior to his career at Villanova, Brennan spent three years playing collegiate basketball in his hometown state of Arizona. He spent his freshman season at Arizona State University before transferring to Grand Canyon University for his sophomore and junior seasons.
Brennan is now the seventh member of the 2025-26 Wildcat roster to join the portal. He enters alongside Acaden Lewis, Bryce Lindsay, Zion Stanford, Braden Pierce, Nico Onyekwere and Malcolm Flaggs.
