On Thursday, May 8, Villanova transfer forward Jordann Dumont announced his commitment to Virginia Commonwealth University.
He announced the news on his Instagram account.
Dumont, a rising redshirt sophomore, appeared in 20 games for the Wildcats this past 2024-25 season, averaging 1.8 points, 45.5% three-point percentage and 6.7 minutes.
He redshirted his true freshman season and did not suit up for the Wildcats. Dumont underwent double hip surgery after the 2023-24 season and went through rehab last offseason.
After fully recovering from hip surgery, he made his first collegiate appearance on Nov. 15, 2024, in a 70-60 loss to Virginia. Dumont played in the game’s final minute.
Dumont had a career-high 15-point performance in Villanova’s 81-66 upset against then-ranked No. 16 Marquette. He shot 4-4 on three-pointers in 16 minutes of action.
The Montreal, Quebec, Canada native was Villanova’s only recruit out of the 2023 high school recruiting class. Coming out of high school, Dumont was unranked out of Hamilton Heights Christian School in Hamilton, TN.
He also received offers from Chattanooga, Hampton, Indiana State and Jacksonville out of high school.
Dumont joins new VCU head coach Ryan Odom, who left Virginia this offseason.
Villanova is returning just three players from last year’s roster – rising junior guard Tyler Perkins, rising redshirt freshman forward Matthew Hodge and rising senior walk-on Wade Chiddick.
Yesterday, May 7, Dumont’s former teammate, rising redshirt sophomore Kris Parker, announced he was committing to the University of Central Florida. Out of the eight Wildcats who entered their names into the transfer portal, six have found new homes.
Enoch Boakye and Jordan Longino, who both ran out of eligibility, entered their names into the portal with the possibility the NCAA could grant them a waiver to play another season of college basketball.
Dumont has three years of eligibility remaining as he becomes a Ram.
