On Friday, April 18, redshirt freshman forward Jordann Dumont entered the transfer portal.
On3Sports’ Jamie Shaw first reported the news on X (formerly known as Twitter).
Dumont follows six other teammates into the transfer portal, most recently being freshman forward Malcolm Thomas, who entered on Wednesday, April 16.
During the 2024-25 season, Dumont averaged 7.3 minutes and 2.7 points per contest.
His best game as a Wildcat came in a crucial 81-66 win over No.16 Marquette. Against the Golden Eagles, Dumont dropped a career-high 15 points on 4-of-4 shooting.
In the Big East Tournament, Dumont played a total of 15 minutes. In the College Basketball Crown, he played a total of 17 minutes and made an appearance in two of the three games.
Hailing from Montreal, Canada, the six-foot-eight forward redshirted his true freshman season.
He signed with Villanova as its only Class of 2027 recruit out of Hamilton Heights Christian School in Hamilton, TN. Dumont was former head coach Kyle Neptune’s first-ever high school recruit during his tenure.
He was unranked coming out of high school and chose Villanova over offers from Chattanooga, Hampton, Indiana State and Jacksonville.
As a member of Canada’s U18 National Team, Dumont was a member of a team that won a bronze medal at the FIBA Americas Championship, averaging 8.5 points per contest. He also represented Canada at the U19 World Cup.
Dumont spent the 2023-2024 season as a practice player and struggled with injuries. Before the 2024-2025 season, Dumont had double hip surgery and spent the offseason and the beginning of this past 2024-25 season rehabbing.
Once he was cleared to play, Dumont made four appearances in 11 non-conference games. He made his Wildcat debut in the 70-60 defeat to Virginia on Nov. 15. Four days later, on Nov. 19, he scored his first career points in a blowout win over the University of Pennsylvania.
Yesterday, on Thursday, April 17, new Villanova head coach Kevin Willard signed three recruits in one day – center Braden Pierce, guard Bryce Lindsay and forward Duke Brennan. Villanova currently has six open roster spots that need to be filled as of Friday, April 18.
Dumont enters the transfer portal with three years of eligibility.
