Sophomore guard Maddie Webber has entered her name into the transfer portal.
The news was first reported on Tuesday, April 3 by Talia Goodman of On3sports.com, who was informed by Webber’s agent, Alec Small. Webber has two years of collegiate eligibility remaining.
Webber’s announcement comes just two days after Villanova ended its season in the semifinals of the Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament (WBIT) on April 1. Webber is the first member of the team to enter the transfer portal in 2025.
The 5-foot-11 sophomore was one of Villanova’s most impactful players this season. As the second-leading scorer, Webber averaged 13.3 points and 2.9 rebounds per game in 2024-2025. As Villanova’s top three-point shooter, Webber made a team-high 57 threes this season. She also recorded the second-most assists on the team with 80.
The only player to start all 36 games this season, Webber finished the season with Second Team All-Big East honors. She scored a career-high 30 points against DePaul on Feb. 12.
The transfer portal will close on Tuesday, April 22.
