Former Villanova men’s basketball head coach Jay Wright is set to join CBS and Turner Sports as a college basketball analyst, per Andrew Marchand of the New York Post.

The two-time national champion retired from Villanova’s head coaching job in April of 2022. It was reported shortly after Wright’s retirement by Andy Katz that Wright had an interest in a broadcasting role.

The report by the New York Post stated that Wright will call games during the college basketball regular season and work in-studio, and that he will work in-studio as an analyst for March Madness and the Final Four. CBS holds the rights to the Big Dance through 2032. CBS and Turner Sports have yet to comment on the report.

According to the report, Wright also drew interest from ESPN and Fox Sports. Fox and Fox Sports notably have the rights to broadcast the Big East Tournament.

CBS will broadcast five Villanova regular season games this season. Games against Oklahoma, Penn, at SJU, at DePaul and at Butler will all be aired on CBS-affiliated stations this season.

An announcement from CBS and Turner Sports is expected to come in the near future. This announcement will likely contain more details about Wright’s role and who he will be paired with on broadcasts.
