Texas Hold ‘Em

[email protected]

Dear Villanovan,

Hello. I wanted to bring to your attention a very successful program this past Friday night, 8/27/04.

The Greek Life and Late Night Offices sponsored Villanova’s first ever “Texas Hold ‘Em” tournament. The event was held in the Villanova Room, started at 9 p.m., and we still had a line out the door at 10:20 p.m.! Those in attendance were mostly freshmen men, but there were women and upperclassman as well. Accounting profsessor Jeff Pelesh played, along with his son.

Fraternity members volunteered to be dealers and Beta Theta Pi’s Mike LaMothe trained the dealers, coordinated all the seating, “bets” (chips, but no cash were used), and ultimately ran the event. Prizes included free Sixers tix, gift certificates to King of Prussia mall, the bookstore and the grand prize was a voucher for $250 towards airfare.

For more information, please feel free to contact myself or Andrea Tuttle in Late Night’s office at x96746.

Thanks so much,
