Constitution

[email protected]

My name is Steve Urbanski, and I am adviser of The Duquesne Duke, the weekly student newspaper serving Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pa. We are in the process or updating the student newspaper’s constitution to submit to the administration. This document has not been updated in many years, so we are interested in viewing constitutions from other Catholic Universities around the country.

Does your paper have a constitution? I am specifically interested in the process of news selection and the Catholic identity. At Duquesne, we are being cautious about how we address this balance. We recognize Duquesne University’s concerns with maintaining the Catholic identity, but we also want to insure that the newspaper is viewed as an open environment. If possible, can you e-mail a copy of your constitution to so we can view it and gather information for our updated constitution?

If you need verbal confirmation of this request, please do not hesitate to contact me. I can be reached during the day at 412/263-1767. My e-mail address is [email protected]

Thanks in advance for you help.
