On September 11, 2002, America was united. Bearing flowers, gripping pictures, holding hands, Americans flocked to churches, observed moments of silence, held memorial services, sobbed for a broken nation. On September 11, 2002, America remembered and mourned.

On December 7, 1942, America was also united. Bearing arms, manufacturing materials, making sacrifices, Americans flocked to draft boards, filled vacant factory positions, boarded airplanes and ships for Europe, laid down and lost their lives for a determined nation. On December 7, 1942, America was taking action and fighting back.

It is often said that time changes people, things, and, in this case, nations. Funny how time has changed America.
