HI there,

This is Cat over at SpinLab PR. A publicity company out of Los Angeles.. we handle a variety of acts fromd dave matthews band to maroon 5, etc. I just wanted to drop you a quick note on our artist Ray LaMontagne (debut album on RCA entitled Trouble released on Sept 14th) coming through to the World Cafe Live on November 4th. Curently, he is on the road with Badly Drawn Boy. This guy is increcible, a truly unique, souful and passionate album, so if you havent already given it a spin……

And the press has been very responsive with great reviews. I know there is some time before this show, but if any interest is stirred please let me know. I can make Ray available for interviews, etc.

I really cant compare him to anyone on the contemporary music scene, but if one goes back a bit,Van Morrison, The Band or Stephen Stills might be accurate.

Rolling Stone recently said that Ray’s “sandpaper croon sounds like church, Van Morrison and dusty porches,” naming him “Hot Songwriter” in their annual “Hot Issue.” Trouble was recorded in Los Angeles and was produced by Ethan Johns. Esquire’s Andy Langer describes Trouble in the lead review of their October issue: “These songs will be your best friends. His voice will stop you dead in your tracks. And this scares the shit out of me, but Trouble is only the beginning.”

Best,
