FORMER MONKEE ‘COMING TO YOUR TOWN’Peter Tork and Shoe Suede Blues to perform locally.

With the 40th anniversary of pop icons The Monkees in 2006, former Monkee Peter Tork and his band Shoe Suede Blues are embarking on a summer/fall tour coming to your town soon! Shoe Suede Blues will be appearing Thursday, August 25th at The Rusty Nail, 2580 Haverford Road, Ardmore, PA 19003, Ph. 610-649-NAIL (6245), Web www.thenail1.com or www.myspace.com/therustynail. Tickets are $10.00. The Blues Mercenaries will be opening for Shoe Suede Blues.

Peter Tork and Shoe Suede Blues are touring in support of their album “Saved by The Blues” which has gained them critical acclaim and positive sales across the U.S.A. Peter and the band play a mixture of their original work as well as blues and rock covers from legends like Muddy Waters, Louis Jordan, Hank Ballard and the Midnighters, and of course The Monkees. Each performance is followed by a “meet and greet” where fans can get photos and CD’s, signed by Peter and the band.

With the revival of the original 1960s TV show on cable and recent feature projects on VH-1, TVLand, and E-Entertainment, The Monkees 40th anniversary will bring together old and new fans alike.

Hailed by rock legend Jimi Hendrix as “the most talented Monkee”, original member Peter Tork is a multi-instrumentalist – guitar, banjo, bass, keyboard and French horn. Peter’s deep roots in the 60’s New York folk and blues scene have kept him alive, thriving and well respected among his peers. Peter put together Shoe Suede Blues in 1997. The group started playing locally in Los Angeles, doing benefits and bar gigs, but quickly escalated to larger venues and festivals.

Describing Shoe Suede Blues is like trying to describe immaculate air. Richard Mikuls, John Palmer, and Michael Sunday have played with some of the most influential recording artists of the last 50 years: Ray Charles, BB King, Ronnie Dawson, Chaka Kahn, Wanda Jackson, The Blues Underground, just to name a few.

With Peter’s band of seasoned pros, Shoe Suede Blues delivers a heartfelt soulful, unforgettable mixture of their vision of what music and songwriting is all about.
