10 Signs…You’re a minority at Villanova.

Princess Garrett

Minority, (n.): the smaller number or part, especially a number that is less than half the whole number.

10. Whenever your race is brought up in class, you feel like you have to represent and speak on it…as if you’re a spokesperson for your people.

9. Your friends can easily spot you anywhere on campus…because you look completely different.

8. You get super excited when you meet someone of the same background as you.

7. You join a particular ethnic club hoping to stay connected with people who understand your struggle.

6. You wonder if there will ever be a time you will not be the minority at this school.

5. You get excited when you see minorities on tours, hoping they will come here.

4. People are curious about your differences so they ask you a ton of personal questions.

3. You try to get to know as many of the minorities on campus as you can, because we have to stick together. We are our own small community.

2. You have been to so many talks about how to make the community more “inclusive” but you know no one is going to do anything about it.

1. But honestly, being a minority is great. You are unique, you are memorable and you stand out!
