On Thursday, April 17, James Madison transfer Bryce Lindsay announced he was transferring to Villanova.
The news was first reported by On3Sports’ Joe Tipton, who was informed by GSE Worldwide –Lindsay’s agency.
He chose Villanova out of his top five over Indiana, Florida, Clemson, Vanderbilt, Miami and the University of Southern California. Lindsay has three years of eligibility remaining.
As a Duke, Lindsay averaged 13.4 points. 2.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists over 31 appearances and 12 starts this past 2024-25 season. He shot 45.5% on field goals and 40.8% from beyond the arc.
The redshirt freshman transferred to James Madison after he began his college career at Texas A&M. He redshirted his true freshman year and did not see any action for the Aggies.
On Nov. 21, 2024, Lindsay put up a career-high 28 points against the University of Illinois Chicago.
The 6-3 guard was named the Sun Belt Conference Freshman of the Year, Sixth Man of the Year and was also named to the All-Sun Belt Conference Third-Team.
Lindsay was a three-star prospect out of IMG Academy.
After losing six players to the portal, Villanova is quickly trying to fill its opening roster spots. New head coach Kevin Willard has picked up four players from the portal already. Willard also picked up one high school recruit, Chris Jeffrey, who decommitted from Maryland to follow him to the Main Line.
As of Thursday, April 17, there are six open roster spots remaining.
