On Wednesday, April 9, freshman forward Josiah Moseley announced he is entering the transfer portal after just one season with the Wildcats.
His decision comes one week after the hiring of former Maryland head coach Kevin Willard and just one day after redshirt freshman guard Kris Parker also entered the portal.
The news was first reported by Joe Tipton of On3Sports on X (formerly known as Twitter).
Moseley, a 6-6 freshman from Round Rock TX, signed his national letter of intent with Villanova in November 2023.
At Stony Point High School, Mosley led the team to the UIL state basketball tournament. He was also named the 2024 Texas Gatorade Boys Basketball Player of the Year and Texas Max Preps Player of the Year.
As a prospect, he was a four-star recruit out of the class of 2024 and held offers from Colorado State, Texas, the University of Southern California and Georgia Tech.
In the summer before his freshman year, Moseley represented Belize at the U18 America’s Cup in June. He started at the tournament averaging 24.2 points and 8.2 rebounds per game.
At Villanova, Moseley saw a limited role under former head coach Kyle Neptune. Despite playing in 30 games he averaged just 1.9 points and 2.3 rebounds per game.
Moseley enters the transfer portal with three years of eligibility remaining.
