Parker transferred to Villanova from Alabama after redshirting his true freshman season. That season, Alabama made a Final Four appearance.
His decision to enter the transfer portal comes one week after Kevin Willard was named as the next head coach of the Wildcats following the dismissal of former head coach, Kyle Neptune. Yesterday it was announced that only assistant coach Ashley Howard would be retained on Villanova’s staff while Mike Nardi, Dwayne Anderson II and Jamie Young would not return.
Upon arriving at Villanova, Parker established a reputation as a tall, versatile guard who was strong on both ends of the court.
In his one season with the Wildcats, Parker came off the bench in 27 games. He averaged 2.6 points, 1.4 rebounds, 0.5 assists and 10 minutes per game. He shot 43.6% from the field and 20.0% on three-pointers.
Parker’s best game as a Wildcat came in the 100-56 win over DePaul when he dropped 11 points. In the College Basketball Crown, he came off the bench, scoring five points and two assists in the 85-64 win over Colorado.
Out of high school, Parker was a ranked four-star recruit, a top 10 player in the state of Florida and was the 88th best prospect in the 2023 class, according to 247 Sports. A native of Tallahassee, he held offers from Florida State, Florida, DePaul, Detroit Mercy and Alabama.
Parker enters the transfer portal with three years of eligibility remaining.
