Sophomore guard Brynn McCurry will miss the 2024-25 season with a right ACL injury. City of Basketball Love’s Josh Verlin reported the news on X (formerly known as Twitter).
Last season, McCurry averaged 2.7 points, 1,8 rebounds and 1.5 assists off the bench as a freshman.
McCurry’s impact on the court was felt towards the back half of last season, tallying 10 points and a career-high five rebounds against Virginia in the second round of the Women’s Basketball Invitational Tournament (WBIT).
In her senior year at Sparta High School, McCurry tore her ACL in her left knee, the opposite leg of her current season-ending injury. Since the injury, she has worn a brace on her left knee.
This summer, Villanova women’s basketball traveled to Italy and participated in multiple scrimmages, in which McCurry participated.
McCurry was one of seven players returning for the Wildcats. Head coach Denise Dillon will look for output from recent portal transfers and freshmen to fill McCurry’s role.
