Senior attacker Sydney Pappas now owns the all-time Villanova women’s lacrosse scoring record, with 155 goals and counting.
Pappas hit the milestone in a 12-8 win against Columbia University at home on Saturday, March 14. The previous program record was held by Katie Comerford (2017-2021) with 153.
Pappas netted five goals against Columbia to surpass Comerford’s previous total. She scored her 154th career goal in the fourth quarter, with 12:45 on the clock. Pappas scored one more after that to lead the team in goals on the day.
Pappas boasts an already impressive resume for the Wildcats.
The New York native earned Big East Co-Attacker of the Year in 2023, and was named to All-Big East First Team twice. She holds multiple Big East Weekly Honor roll accolades, along with Big East Attacker of the Week. Pappas also led Villanova with 49 goals and 53 points in her junior season and has notched 22 goals this season so far.
The victory over Columbia sends Villanova (6-3) into Big East play. Pappas and the Wildcats return to Villanova Stadium on Saturday, March 22 at 1 p.m. to face the University of Connecticut (5-3).
