Tomorrow evening, the doors to the Pavilion will open at 6:30 pm and thousands of eager students, family members and other basketball hangers-on will stream into arena, filling up even the nosebleed seats nearby Randy Foye’s retired jersey. Bright lights. Cheering. The Dunk Contest. The Blue and White Scrimmage. Alumni introduction. Do we care about any of that?

Of course, but nothing quite compares to the excitement built around the highly anticipated performer reveal at the end of the night.

In 2011, Drake came and formed the connection with one lucky student who he later referred to in a song—“How’s Villanova, what classes you taking next semester?” the Canadian megastar crooned on a recent rap verse. The year 2012 welcomed Rick Ross who notably sweated through the Villanova basketball jersey he wore on stage—this was before his significant weight loss. In 2013, a pre anaconda Nicki Minaj graced the stage, breaking the strict no-swearing rules and apologizing sheepishly into the mic: “Sorry coach, they needed that.” So who will it be in 2014? Well, The Villanovan is excited to announce that we have inside scoop. For the first time in school history, we are going to reveal the performer before Hoops Mania Night as an exclusive preview. Also for the first time in school history, Jay Wright has gotten two of the most coveted artists in the game to do a collaborative concert.

Drumroll please…..

Lil’ Romeo and Bubba Sparxxx.

You’re welcome, Villanova.
