To quote the Jonas Brothers’ favorite fan poster in the audience, “It wasn’t just a phase.”

Although the trio has not been able to perform on tour across the country due to the pandemic, Nick, Kevin and Joe reignited their fanbase last Friday, Sept. 24 in Hersheypark Stadium as part of the Remember This tour. Full of both modern and nostalgic hits, such as “Play My Music,” “Lovebug,” “Year 3000,” “Burnin’ Up,” “Cool,” “Jealous,” “Levels” and “What a Man Gotta Do,” the Jonas Brothers blew fans away. 

The Jonas Brothers have had an undoubtedly successful career together. Their quick rise to fame began with Disney Channel, starring in fan favorite Disney Channel Original Movie “Camp Rock” with Demi Lovato, along with their own series aptly titled “Jonas.” After a breakup in 2013, the trio reunited six years later for their beloved fans with a hit comeback album, “Happiness Begins.” 

Junior Bernadette Goratowski was thrilled that they sang her all-time favorite songs at the concert, allowing her to reminisce about her childhood days. 

“It was so fun to finally get to hear music that I loved growing up in person,” Goratowski said. “I never went to a Jonas Brothers concert growing up, so it was a perfect way to live out my nostalgia and listen to their new songs.”

Although the Jonas Brothers performed on stage, far away from fans, they kept them engaged via synchronized clapping and flashlight waves. In fact, many enjoyed their performance of classic “Lovebug” because fans were able to look out and admire a sea of bright, waving flashlights across the stadium. 

Junior Karina Zakarian was relieved that the Jonas Brothers performed “Year 3000,” her favorite song of theirs, at the finale.

“Nothing was more memorable than singing ‘Year 3000’ with my best friends at the concert’s finale,” Zakarian said. “I was on the edge of my seat the whole time waiting for the trio to play my favorite of their songs, and, of course, they saved the best for last.”

Not only did Nick, Joe and Kevin perform extremely well with well-coordinated dance routines and a wide array of their famous hits, but they also invited a very special guest as their opening act, American country pop singer and songwriter Kelsea Ballerini. 

Ballerini performed numerous hit songs of hers such as “Dibs,” “Peter Pan,” “Homecoming Queen” and “Half of My Hometown.” She interacted with the audience frequently, and she named Hersheypark Stadium the sweetest town she has ever visited, a compliment to the iconic park of the Hershey Chocolate Company.

Junior Liz Thompson praised Ballerini’s performance as the Jonas Brothers’ opening act. 

“Kelsea Ballerini was the perfect beginning to a phenomenal night,” Thompson said. “She owned the stage and delivered so much more than just the opening act. I felt like I got two amazing concerts for the price of one Jonas Brothers ticket!”

Fans waited hours in line to buy limited edition Jonas Brothers and Kelsea Ballerini merchandise. Junior Serena Matos didn’t mind the wait and bought a Jonas Brothers sweatshirt.

“They had such a wide range of options,” Matos said. “Only the Jonas brothers can get me to pay $75 for a hoodie. It’s so comfortable and I will be wearing it until further notice.”

At the close of their performance, Kevin, Nick and Joe went out with a bang as dozens of fireworks exploded above the stage in the starry night, adding a sense of magic, excitement and awe in the audience. 

The Jonas Brothers will continue on with their Remember This tour for the upcoming month, treating old and new fans alike to a wonderful performance full of fun and nostalgia.
