On Friday, November 16th, The Villanova University Men’s Basketball Team announced that redshirt sophomore Dylan Painter will be transferring from the team. Painter has been on board since the 2016-2017 season and started the Wildcat’s opening contest against Morgan State, finishing with three points and three rebounds. With this said, the forward played only eleven minutes in the Wildcat’s first three games and did not see the court against Michigan on Wednesday.

In Painter’s freshman year, the 2016-2017 season, he played in 23 games, averaging 0.9 points and 1.4 rebounds in 5.8 minutes per game. Although he redshirted this past year, he still practiced with the National Championship team and was valued in the locker room.

In a statement, Head Basketball Coach Jay Wright said, “There is not a player more loved or respected on our team than Dylan Painter. Dylan has decided he wants to go to a program where he can play more. He’s been such a valuable asset to our program that we want him to be happy – he deserves it. Dylan’s been a very important member of this program, and we all wish him the best.”

We wish the best of luck for Dylan and thank him for his time at Villanova.
