Villanova University is once again listed as one of the top producers of Fulbright Scholars in the United States, as recently announced by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Sixteen students and alumni from the University were awarded Fulbright awards in the 2018-19 academic year, the highest of the school’s history. The University also has 55 semi-finalists for the award. The 55 semi-finalists will be notified over the next two months whether or not they will be receiving an award for the 2019-2020 academic year. The 2019-2020 Semi-Finalists breaks the University’s former record of 32 Semi-Finalists, set in 2016, and solidly passing last year’s 30 Semi-Finalists. The University has been among the top producers, nationwide, in Fulbright Awards for the last ten years. The Fulbright Program has provided more than 380,000 participants with the opportunity to exchange ideas, resolve and conduct real research with international concerns. The program, run through the Department of State, also gives grants to scholars, faculty, and teachers to conduct research and teach oversees.  The University’s Fulbright program is run through the Center for Research and Fellowships.
