Villanova is adding another home-and-home series to its schedule. The Wildcats will play the University of Wisconsin during their 2025-26 non-conference schedule on Dec. 19, 2025.
Wisconsin will host this season’s game at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, WI.
The return game will take place at the Wells Fargo Center – soon to be named the Xfinity Mobile Center – during the 2026-27 season.
Jon Rothstein of CBS was the first to report the news on X (formerly known as Twitter). Adam Zagoria then confirmed the news with Villanova head coach Kevin Willard.
The news comes a day after it was announced Villanova was finalizing a home-and-home series with the University of Michigan. The Wildcats will go to Michigan during the upcoming season and then host the Wolverines in 2026-27.
There has been no date or time announced for the Michigan game.
Villanova and Wisconsin have only faced two times in the history of the two programs. The all-time series is tied at 1-1
The last time the teams faced off was in the Round of 32 in the 2017 NCAA Tournament. Wisconsin bounced Villanova from the tournament, defeating the Wildcats 65-62, on March 18, 2017.
Last season, the Badgers finished with a 27-10 record and a 13-7 Big 10 record. They finished No. 16 on the final AP Poll of the season. Wisconsin’s season ended in the NCAA Tournament’s Round of 32 with a 91-89 loss to Brigham Young University.
As of May 29, college basketball analyst Andy Katz has Wisconsin ranked No. 22 on his rankings entering the 2025-26 season.
During the offseason, the Badgers picked up three key transfers that are projected to be in the starting lineup: guard Nick Boyd, forward Andrew Rohde and forward Austin Rapp.
Villanova is set to open its 2025-26 season against BYU in Las Vegas at the T-Mobile Arena on Monday, Nov. 3.
