Senior forward Enoch Boakye has again entered the transfer portal, almost one year after transferring to Villanova from Fresno State.
On Friday, April 11, just before 6 p.m., Tobias Bass reported that Boakye had told The Athletic that he would be entering the portal with a “Do Not Contact” tag.
A “Do Not Contact” tag indicates a player already has a list of schools they wish to speak with and will not be responding to inquiries for schools beyond this list.
Jeff Neiburg of The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that Boakye is currently filing for a waiver for another season of eligibility. If approved, he will have one season of eligibility remaining.
Boakye previously played at Arizona State and Fresno State before joining the Wildcats in 2024. In his senior season at Villanova, he started all 36 games. Boakye finished the season averaging 4.4 points and 6.4 rebounds per game, shooting 65.9% from the field.
In Villanova’s loss to the University of Central Florida in the Crown semifinals on April 5, Boakye finished the game with a double-double, dropping 11 points and grabbing 11 rebounds.
This season at Villanova, Boakye’s six-foot-11 frame allowed graduate forward Eric Dixon to play as a power forward. Aided by Boakye’s rim protection, Dixon became the nation’s leading scorer and earned third team All-American honors.
Boakye grew up in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. Coming out of high school, he was ranked as the No. 29 recruit in the Class of 2021 by 247Sports, but decided to come to college a year early.
As a member of Team Canada’s youth teams, Boakye starred in the 2019 FIBA U16 Americas Championship. He averaged 8.8 points and 10.8 rebounds per game. He had 12 points and 13 rebounds against the United States in the championship game.Boakye’s decision to transfer comes one day after freshman forward Josiah Moseley entered the portal, and just hours after redshirt freshman guard Aleksandar Gavalyugov announced he was transferring. Two other Wildcats, Redshirt guard Kris Parker and redshirt forward Nnanna Njoku have also announced their intent to enter the transfer portal.
