Roll the dice and step into the game of Monopoly on Friday, Oct. 25 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Oreo outside of the Connelly Center on the patio.
The Majors Fair, an event offered by the Office of Undergraduate Students, allows students to pursue a variety of majors, minors and concentrations to potentially find a future career path.
Professors and undergraduate students will be of assistance during the fair. Tables will be set up for students to walk around and interact with faculty and students.
Besides faculty, students and OUS members, the Majors Fair also has a committee to help students. The committee is composed of undergraduate students, and is in charge of picking a theme for the event. This year’s theme is, “Hop Around the Majors to Monopolize Your Future!”
There will be food at the event to represent boardwalk food. In addition, students will receive folders with a Monopoly “playcard” to keep track of the tables they visit.
There will also be raffle prizes for students to enter upon arrival. The prizes will range from Villanova merch to gift cards for local businesses. This year’s gift cards range from 10 to 50 dollars.
The advisor of the Majors Fair Committee, Cecily Ritchie, emphasized that the students on the committee have worked hard all year to make this event possible.
Julia Amendola, the co-Chair of the Majors Fair Committee, is a senior who has worked on the committee for the past three years.
“Being a part of the Majors Fair has truly been a joy,” Amendola said. “Year after year, the event just gets even better. It’s so exciting to see what great ideas new members bring to the table. I feel proud to have been a part of such an influential event for CLAS first year students.”
Amendola also explained there are three seniors, including herself, graduating from the committee. Students in the committee will come and go, but the event will be a forever tradition at Villanova.
The Majors Fair Committee is always looking for new members to help with event planning. For more information, email Cecily Ritchie, at [email protected].
