I just read the Summer Internship article by Chris McGlinn. Just wanted to point out another interesting positive for working a summer internship. I work for Merrill Lynch and interned there the summer before my senior year. Merrill recently adopted a company policy where by your start date with the company includes intern time, i.e. my July of 1994 start date was moved to May of 1993 thereby giving me a full year of credit for retirement and vacation.
