Dear Editor, Last Spring, prominent and vocal pro choice supporter, Anna Quindlen speaks at Graduation. I was saddened but procrastinated about writing.However, the latest Villanovan arrives and I read the page entitled “what are you giving up for Lent?”. And I find that I cannot contain my outrage! The press is filled with articles about how Catholic colleges have lost their identities and no longer foster but rather in some cases denounce the very religion upon which they were founded. The responses of what these students are giving up for Lent certainly proves this true. If your intention was humor you could have chosen, “what are you doing for spring break?”not a deeply spiritual season. I guess the best response was from the student who answered,”I don’t believe in any of that Catholic stuff”…He for sure is enrolled in the right university. Marianne Deutschle Class of ’73
