Local Magician Attempts To Cheat Death A show called “Ultimate Illusions” will feature Las Vegas award winning magician Ed Junior as he attempts to cheat death in a never before attempted escape.Magician Ed Junior from Mohnton, Pa. will be performing at the Wachovia theatre in Albright College on Friday December 5th, 2003. The college is located in Reading Pennsylvania. The show begins at 7:30pm and the doors will open at 7. A percentage of the proceeds will benefit the Domino Players theater group.

The show which Ed calls “Ultimate Illusions” will run approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes and will feature his award winning magic and illusions. “Expect to see things you have never seen anyone else do”, Ed announced. There will be amazing magic, hilarious comedy, high-energy music, astounding costumes and special effects. The shows opening act will be playing with fire as Dave Huseman will juggle, eat, and spit fire!

To close the show Ed will attempt a premier escape called “Cheating Death”. He will be locked, chained, collared and handcuffed to the inside of a steel cabinet. Ed’s job will be to free himself in time before ten spikes each two feet long come crashing down at over 30 miles per hour. “There is no room for error, once the timer is started it is my job to escape”, Ed said. He has only 2 minutes and 30 seconds to make his escape. Ed has been training for over two months on his escape by being chained up in the same fashion that he will be on the night of the show; however it won’t be until that Friday night on December 5th, 2003 that he will be locked inside the steel cabinet for the very first time. “This is the safest way to train until the night of the show. Currently my training time to pick all the locks is at 2 minutes and 45 seconds. I need to shed off at least 30 seconds to be safe”, Ed said.
