World Premiere of Sex, Cellulite and Large Farm Equipment in Philadelphia, March 1-28

To Whom It May Concern:

Coming to the Society Hill Playhouse from March 1-28 is Bucks County’s River Huston and the world premiere of her one-woman multimedia show, Sex, Cellulite and Large Farm Equipment: One Girl’s Guide to Living and Dying. Huston-a cabbie turned poet-performer-has reinvented herself so many times it would even surprise Madonna. This local Material Girl’s life has truly been a journey; and to borrow the parlance of the Grateful Dead, “what a long, strange trip it’s been.”

· Huston is a former poet laureate of Bucks County, stand-up comic, sex columnist, public speaker, aerobics instructor, musician, pot farmer and armed robber.

· Described as blunt and irreverent, Huston has toured the world with her messages about finding joy and happiness in life no matter what your situation (the career journeywoman, who is living with two terminal illnesses, can certainly attest to this).

· In the show, Huston talks about the wonders and dangers of sex and sexuality; body image (“How you can find joy and happiness and enjoy your back fat at the same time,” notes the multifaceted performer.); and large farm equipment (a nod to her macho husband and to male audience members).

· Showtime viewers (Showtime produced a special on Huston entitled Say You Love Me), senior citizens from a Unitarian church, housewives, an audience of 40,000 Japanese citizens and high school and college students have all reveled in her performances.

She’s a witty performer with an equally poignant message. We hope that you’re interested in interviewing the inspiring and colorful River Huston. Please feel free to contact me with any questions; if not, I’ll follow up shortly.

Best,

Joey
