SARANADE LP IS ON FIRE!!!
Washington, DC, April 8, 2004 – Royal-T Records. Sarah-Jane Thomas, a 22-year-old graduate student at Howard University has released her first CD, the Saranade LP, through Royal-T Records, an independent label which she personally built. This scorching new album acts as a canvas for the artist’s diverse musical flavors, which can be described as “R&B with a Caribbean flavor”, as Thomas’s family comes from Haiti.
The highlights of the album are “Crush”, a smooth mid-tempo groove about the possibility of friendship turning into something more; “Never Leave the Dance Floor”, a banging upbeat song featuring Mobeon of the Flipside Babies, which lyrically paints a picture of a promising encounter at a party; and “Love”, a romantic ballad debating whether or not the protagonist should completely expose her emotions to the man she cares for. Also to be noted are “The Back Door”, a song of betrayal; “Melancholy”, which merges haunting classical harmonies with new-school R&B; and “Forever”, which reminds of romantic whispers between lovers.
“I just want to get my message heard,” says Thomas. “There are other ways to make music than to degrade ourselves.”
