As a graduate of Villanova class of ’83, I have always been involved and supported the University. I briefly wrote a column for the Villanova called “You Bet Your Life” and at that time the column had to be reviewed by the College of Nursing as well as the paper for content, accuracy, and appropriateness. What has happened since then? Is there no more editing at the Villanovan? The snide remark in the column “The top 10 worst qualities of both candidates” stating readers thought “10 Jews in a Swiss Bank were running the world” is antisemitism as worst- masquarading as flip humor. The author has a Hispanic sounding name- would he find it funny if I included a stereotypical remark about the intelligence and work ethic of Hispanics in this letter to the editor? I doubt it.
