For Immediate Release

In the wake of the tsunami disaster and its staggering death toll, the Main Line Opera Guild, a singing group based in Philadelphia’s Suburbs is stepping up to the plate to raise money to support UNICEF’s effort.

The contribution is significant according to the group’s Director, Nancy Patton. “It’s important for us to step forward and be one of the representatives from the arts community in the wake of this horrible disaster and to show that the arts community can give to the world in more ways then one”.

The Guild will perform in a concert of operatic excerpts and Broadway tunes on Saturday, February, 26th at 7:30 pm at the Lower Merion Baptist Church, 911 New Gulph Road Bryn Mawr, PA 19010, to benefit tsunami victims. Donations will be accepted at the door. All time and materials will be donated, so that every dollar raised will go directly to the UNICEF tsunami relief fund.

Scheduled performers are Maria Barnet of Wilmington, Dawn Marie Clark of Jeffersonville, Dolly Hemphill of West Chester, Don Johnson of Ardmore, Nancy Patton of Aston, Mary Punshon of Broomall, Judi Rough of Devon, and Enrico Adriano, Dorothy Cardella, Bohdan Chaplynsky, James Longacre, Kate Quinn, John Rudolph, and pianist Ben Blozan, from Philadelphia.
