NovaFEST announces official lineup, ticket prices

The tenth anniversary of NovaFEST will feature twin headliners spread over two days, April 22nd and 23rd.

Comedian Dane Cook will headline the opening night’s events with Philadelphia’s own band the Starting Line performing a live concert to conclude the weekend’s festivities.

Dane Cook was just named Rolling Stone Magazines next “Hot Comic” and Comedy Central’s Favorite Stand-up Comedian.

Following the immense success of his debut CD/DVD Harmful if Swallowed, which sold over 130,000 copies in under a year, Cook has been playing to packed houses across the country. Cook’s latest tour will be coming to the Pavilion on Friday, April 22.

The show will begin at 8 p.m., with doors opening at 7 p.m. and will also feature the stand-up talents of Gary Gulman, Robert Kelly and Jay Davis.

On Saturday evening, the Starting Line will perform in the Pavilion. The show will start at 8 p.m., with doors once again opening at 7 p.m. The Suicide Pact and Mae will open the concert.

Best known for their hit single “The Best of Me” off their debut album Say It Like You Mean It, the Starting Line have been at the front of the pop-punk scene since 1999.

The Student pre-sale will begin Wednesday, April 6 at 9 a.m. in 108 Dougherty Hall.

The ticket package costs $20 and will include admission to both the Dane Cook show and the Starting Line performance. Purchases will be limited to two packages per University ID. The pre-sale will last until Friday, April 8, or until supplies run out. Ticket supplies are limited and will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets for individual events, as well as general public ticket sales, will become available at a later date.

NovaFEST began in 1996 as the University’s Earth Day celebration. Over the past ten years, the event has evolved into a celebration all its own. The festival is planned and organized by the NovaFEST executive committee, composed of students drawn from various campus organizations.
