Season premieres are finally here

The OfficePremieres Thursday, Sept. 21, 8:30 p.m. on NBCLast season: Fumbling regional manager Michael Scott found himself in a self-proclaimed love triangle between Jan and realtor Carol. Meanwhile, Jim could no longer watch Pam plan her wedding with Roy and applied for a job at another branch. Before he accepted, he professed his love to Pam and kissed her.This season: The show will pick up three months later. Did Pam leave Roy to be with Jim? It may not be the case. Rumor is that Rashida Jones has been cast as a new love interest for Jim.
Grey’s AnatomyPremieres Thursday, Sept. 21, 9 p.m. on ABCLast season: Meredith Grey spent most of the season gazing and pouting like a lost puppy while she tried to cope with being dumped by Derek. Meanwhile, Derek tried to repair his marriage with Addison. Izzie hooked up with Alex then fell in love with heart patient Denny. In the season finale, Dr. Burke was shot while carrying a new heart for Denny. Meredith slept with Derek then was left to choose between Derek and the vet, Dr. Finn Dandridge.This season: In the season premiere, the doctors will help Izzie cope with Denny’s death and her decision to quit the internship program while Meredith must decide between Derek and Finn. If it seems obvious that she’ll choose Derek, don’t be too sure. Finn (played by Chris O’Donnell) is signed on to do at least a few episodes this season.
CSI: Crime Scene InvestigationPremieres Thursday, Sept. 21, 9 p.m. on CBSLast season recap: In last season’s big cliffhanger, we find Grissom and Sara (who is only wearing a bathrobe) alone together in a bedroom.This season: We’ll see how the other CSI members react to Grissom and Sara’s romance. With ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ as its new Thursday night competition, CSI producers will probably focus on more character driven stories. Also, expect to see John Mayer perform in the season premiere.
Desperate HousewivesPremieres Sunday, Sept. 24, 9 p.m. on ABCLast season: Susan’s relationship with Mike became complicated when her ex-husband moved in with neighbor Edie. She then moved into a trailer after her house burned down. Lynette learned of Tom’s other daughter with a woman named Nora whom he met long ago. Gabrielle discovered that Carlos was cheating on her with their maid, Xiao-Mei. Bree checked herself into a psychiatric hospital for addiction where she met dentist Orson.This season: After a sophomore slump, the show will go back into the hands of the first season’s executive producer, Marc Cherry. We can expect Xiao-Mei about to give birth. Lynette will reach her breaking point with Nora, and Bree and Orson will get engaged.
Gilmore GirlsPremieres Tuesday, Sept. 26, 8 p.m. on CWLast season: Luke discovered he had a daughter. Lorelai left Luke with an ultimatum and then found herself in bed with Christopher. Meanwhile, Rory watched as Logan graduated from Yale and left for London.This season: With a new set of writers for the show’s seventh season we can expect a lot of changes. We’ll find out whether Lorelai and Christopher can stay together this time around. Rory and Logan will engage in a long-distance relationship. Luke continues to be involved in April’s life, while Lane and Zack experience life as newlyweds.
SmallvillePremieres Thursday, Sept. 28, 8 p.m. on CWLast season: Clark found a new enemy in Dr. Milton Fine aka Braniac. Zod transformed into Lex’s body and trapped Clark in a Kryptonite glass prison called the Phantom Zone.This season: Zod, who is planning to turn Earth into a Krypton-like planet holds Lana captive demanding that she produce an heir. Clark is stuck in the Phantom Zone and finds himself without powers. Chloe runs into old flame Jimmy Olsen.
LOSTPremieres Wednesday, Oct. 4, 9 p.m. on ABCLast season: Desmond opted to turn on the hatch fail-safe causing a blast on the island. As part of a deal with the Others, Michael promised to give up Jack, Sawyer, and Kate in exchange for his son.This season: There will be a new love interest for Jack. Locke, Sayid and other survivors of the hatch blast will look to rescue Jack, Sawyer and Kate. Plus, we’ll learn more about the Others, the history of the island, and how Locke got into that wheelchair. ‘Lost’ will air six episodes, then go on a 13-week hiatus until early 2007. After that it will air regularly for the remainder of the season without reruns.
The O.C.Premieres Thursday, Nov. 2, 9 p.m. on FoxLast season: Kirsten went to AA. Summer got into Brown University, but Seth didn’t. Ryan was planning to go to Berkeley, but in the big season finale, Marissa died in his arms after Volchok hit their car.This season: The show picks up in the fall, several months after Marissa’s death. Summer will be starting a new life at Brown while Seth stays in Orange County. Ryan pulls away from the Cohen family as they try to help him cope with losing Marissa. We’ll also discover what’s become of Volchok.
