This just in: camp-out outdoors, says Pedra
November 16, 2006
Editor’s Note: SGA recently told The Villanovan that, if all goes according to plan, the camp-out will most likely take place outdoors.
However, SGA Vice President Dave Pedra would not disclose the actual location.
In light of this information, The Villanovan has decided to create its own checklist for those brave enough to camp out tomorrow.
Be on main campus! Seniors, go back to your apartment after class, then finish packing and get back to Main as soon as you can. Everyone else, just be smart.
Pack/dress accordingly. While rain is not expected, lows tomorrow night are expected to dip into the high 30s, so layer up!
Bring things to do. Being outside for 18 hours with your friends should be fun, but there’s only so many times you can sing “99 Bottles of Beer On The Wall.”
Get comfortable: sleeping bags, blankets and pillows are a must … that is unless you’re using this time to cuddle with that special someone.
Replenish yourself: coolers with food and non-alcoholic beverages are a great idea. Note: there will be heavy Public Safety there. Use this information at your own discretion.
Don’t forget to bring your Wildcard to the camp-out. This along with your banner ID will be used for identification purposes.
Make sure you bring some cash. There will be many outside vendors selling stuff, so don’t miss out because you forgot your wallet.
Make sure everything you bring is portable. Don’t be that group trying to drag a futon across the Quad. Come prepared, but be sensible.
Bring your stamina: Once you enter the camp-out site, leaving means you forfeit your ticket package deal. Your friend can’t sub in for you either.
The last and most important thing … BRING YOUR ‘NOVA NATION SPIRIT! Prove that you are worthy of each ticket you’re getting and show how much ‘Nova pride you have.
