Lamb of God’s latest album, “Sacrament,” sees the band taking new steps in its patented groove/prog metal sound with structural and sonic innovation as the focus of the album. In “Sacrament,” Lamb of God shows why it is quickly becoming one of the most important and influential metal bands. Its hard-hitting, aggressive style and challenging lyrics create the perfect combination to combat some of the short-lived trends of the industry. Lamb of God has come a long way and are sure to remain a fixture in heavy metal for years to come.
Lamb of God is aware of its long, hard-fought journey to fame, starting as a garage band playing small clubs in Virginia. Over the past few years, it has steadily worked its way up through the metal ranks with a very impressive list of tourmates. The band co-headlined “Unholy Alliance” with Slayer and Children of Bodom and “Gigantour” with Megadeth and Overkill, and it headlined “Sounds of the Underground.” In the new year, Lamb of God kicks off a new list of tour dates on the East Coast, including stops in New York on March 22 and Philadelphia on March 23 for a tour with Machine Head, Trivium and Gojira. Philadelphia seems to be a favorite stop for Lamb of God, as they recently released a live DVD titled “Killadelphia” highlighting their tour stop in Philly.
This is an epic release for this band, as Lamb of God has the industry buzzing with “Sacrament” – including a Grammy nomination for the single, “Redneck.” The band keeps the sound new and edgy with killer, crunching solos and enigmatic structures designed as a dizzying assault on the ears and mind. With this release, Lamb of God continues to cement its legacy as a true metal star with a groundbreaking sound.
