The results are in: the Villanova Wildcats (22-10, 9-7 Big East) drew the ninth seed in the West bracket. On Friday, the ninth-seeded ‘Cats will travel to Chicago to play against the Kentucky Wildcats (21-11, 9-7 SEC East).

Head Coach Jay Wright said after the Selection Show festivities that he is thrilled with the opportunity to play against Kentucky, but also acknowledged that the match-up won’t be an easy one, especially with Kentucky Head Coach Tubby Smith on the other side.

“They play great defense,” Wright said. “They’ve got great athleticism and it’s going to be a battle. It’s going to be a physical game.”
