Press Release

Villanova Radio received an Achievement in Radio Award (A.I.R.) for Best College Radio On-Air Personality.

The Achievement in Radio Awards are given to radio stations in the Philadelphia market for a number of different categories.

The awards also act as a fund raiser for the March of Dimes.

Villanova sophomore Julian Isidro was honored at the awards banquet on Nov. 1 for receiving the Best College Radio On-Air Personality Award.

Isidro was up against five other local personalities in this category.

This is WXVU’s first nomination and award in the category of best college radio on-air personality.

Other nominees included Suzanne Lee and James Lloyd.

Lee and Lloyd were both nominated in best college radio public affairs programming, and Lloyd was also nominated in best college radio editorial.

WXVU is a 75-watt non-commercial radio station licensed to the Board of Trustees of Villanova University.

The station is completely student staffed and operated.

WXVU broadcasts on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays on 89.1 FM and everyday online at wxvufm.com.
