The water polo team hosted the Villanova Invitational this weekend and competed in two games on Sunday afternoon. The ‘Cats split the doubleheader by defeating Slippery Rock but falling to Iona.

Although the ‘Cats trailed by a score of 5-4 at halftime of the game against Slippery Rock they played a good second half to win the game 12-10.

The final score of the match against Iona was 18-10 in favor of the Gaels.

On Saturday, the team will travel to New York to compete in the MAAC games at Marist. Their trip will feature a rematch against Iona, followed by a late afternoon game against St. Francis. — J.A.
